Our Australian Native Bee Hive Split

September 17, 2016 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Splitting of a native bee hive is when you create two hives from one, thus increasing their numbers over time.

There are over 1500 species of native bees in Australia. In Sydney we have mostly Tetragonula carbonaria

Keeping stingless bees is easy and you don’t need to be an expert! They are family friendly which makes this bee very popular in Community Gardens

Pollinating plants is the main activity of bees, 70% of the food that we consume is pollinated by bees.
